Illinois Residents

• Valid Illinois driver’s license
• Proof of residence (see acceptable documents below)
• Trade-in title
• If your trade-in vehicle has no payoff and the title is missing, a $150 duplicate title fee may apply
• Payoff information, if applicable

Out-of-State Residents

• Valid driver’s license from your home state
• Two proofs of Illinois residence (if registering the vehicle in Illinois)
• Trade-in title

To verify your current address, please bring any of the following:

• Utility bill, bank statement, or pre-printed pay stub
• W-2, property tax bill, or Social Security/pension benefits statement
• Medicaid or Medicare benefits letter
• Current auto, homeowners, or renters insurance policy
• Residential mortgage or vehicle loan statement
• Child support documentation or official government mail
• Illinois voter registration card or change-of-address confirmation
